The Basics

Back to Bike coaching is RPM's advanced motorcycle training for riders who already hold a full licence. It's built for two overlapping groups: riders returning to motorcycling after months or years off and looking for genuine motorcycle refresher training, and riders who passed their test some time ago and want structured, post test motorbike training to keep improving.

Unlike a fixed syllabus, every session is shaped around where you are as a rider right now — rebuilding confidence, sharpening rusty skills, or refining technique on faster, more demanding roads. It's genuinely one to one motorcycle coaching, not a group class.

All coaching draws on the same structured method used across RPM's training — the System of Motorcycle Control (IPSGA), informed by Motorcycle Roadcraft — delivered with two-way intercom so guidance happens in real time, on the move, not just at the roadside.

Who Chooses This Training
🔁
Returning riders
Coming back to biking after a long break and want returning rider training that rebuilds confidence safely — completely normal to feel nervous about riding again, and that's exactly what this session is built to address.
📈
Post-test riders
Passed relatively recently and want structured post test motorbike training beyond what the test itself covered.
🏔️
Riders tackling harder roads
Want to build the skills and confidence for faster A and B roads, bends, and more technical routes.
🎯
Riders working on something specific
Have one clear area — how to improve cornering on a motorcycle, motorbike overtaking technique, or road positioning — they want focused advanced motorcycle training on.
How a Back to Bike Day Works

A full-day session covers around 110 miles of A and B roads through Dursley, Stroud, Nailsworth, Cheltenham, Quedgeley and Gloucester, with a structure built around genuine coaching rather than simply clocking up miles.

01Pre-ride consultation — what you want to work on and where you're starting from
02Riding with two-way intercom coaching throughout
03Structured stops for debrief using the CCL method (Confirm, Correct, Learn)
04Progressive routes — building difficulty as the day develops
05Written development report to take away
06Clear next steps if you want further coaching

Half-day sessions follow the same structured approach in a shorter window — ideal where time is limited or you've got one specific area you want to focus on.
